After a busy summer on the managerial merry-go-round, who will be the first Premier League manager to lose their job?

The plethora of managerial comings and goings during the close season means that no sooner will be the season start than speculation will begin about the first manager to be sacked.

If you’re looking for a football club impatient for success, then look no further than Liverpool.  The Anfield board were brave in appointing Brendan Rodgers, but they will come under huge pressure to wield the axe should the season start poorly.  There will also be plenty of pressure on Chelsea’s Roberto Di Matteo to succeed.

He may have won the Champions League, but Roman Abramovich will expect it to be followed by instant Premier League success.

Of course, prime candidates for the sack include managers of clubs likely to face a relegation battle.  It is a classic football bet and there are some attractive odds on offer.  As a result, the likes of Sam Allardyce, Chris Hughton and Michael Laudrup had better not get too comfortable in case their chairmen decide a change in the hot seat is needed to avoid relegation.
