Brazil’s national team is struggling big time according to one of its most important players over the last decade – Kaka.
The Orlando City superstars says that the lack of focus on the future has led to the national team going to new depths after the recent Copa America. The team went into the tournament keen to put behind the disappointment of a disappointing World Cup 2014 in which they were sent out in humiliating circumstances. The 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Germany in the semi-finals remains as one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history.
The national team brought in their former captain Dunga in order to revive the glory days, but even the 1994 World Cup winning captain was unable to prevent more decline during the recent Copa America. Brazil were knocked out even before the finals at the hands of Chile. Kaka has admitted that in the world football superpower is struggling to assert its superiority at the international stage since the leaders are more focused on intermediate success rather than the future. Kaka also says that one of the reasons for the continuous struggles is that most of the players are based in Europe and play for different teams.
“Brazil is struggling. The players in the national team are playing in Europe. What I’m worried about is Brazilian football because it’s a little bit mad there. There’s no organization, nobody dealing with the future. They’re only thinking about the immediate future or the next month.I’m worried about that because if you look at the Brazilian championship, it’s not the same anymore. We have to solve the problems because all the other countries are improving with new ideas and methods. I’m still a fan. But we have problems we need to solve,” said Kaka about the national team.
