After becoming the top goal-scorer of the Premier League in the 2013-14 season and scoring 31 goals in 33 appearances, Luis Suarez became one of the most sought out talents in Europe.
As the summer transfer window of that year approached, more clubs started to take notice of what the Uruguayan player has to offer as he was the standout performer for Liverpool in his last season with the Premier League club.
This outstanding season that Suarez enjoyed with Liverpool was one of the main reasons on why Barcelona splashed out €94 million to sign him.
The €94 million seems to have struggled trying to adapt to Barcelona as he managed to score his first league goal with the Spanish club on December 20, which was more than 5 months since he had joined Barcelona.
When Luis Suarez was asked about what it felt like to finally score a league goal with his new club, the Uruguayan forward stated that it’s not such an important thing for him to score goals as he was happier to just see his team claim all 3 points after defeating Cordoba with a final scoreboard of 5-0.
“The most important part is that the team got three important points. I’m not hung up about goals. I know I’m a striker who must score goals, but I was convinced they’d come with the help of my teammates. I’m helping the team win important games. Of course, scoring in La Liga always counts and is important”. Barcelona’s Luis Suarez told the media.
Luis Suarez is not going through the same sensational season that he enjoyed with Liverpool some time ago but the Uruguayan player is focusing more on just helping out his teammates and not so caught up in scoring goals.
