FC Barcelona striker Luiz Suarez is set to get a better deal from the club, based on his outstanding performance in the last campaign.
The former Liverpool player broke the stranglehold of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when he scored 40 goals to become the La Liga top scorer, the only different person in recent years.
The team received a boost when Brazilian star Neymar agreed to a new deal with the club. The new deal would keep with the Catalan giant till 2021. The five year deal came with a higher release clause to ensure other club stay clear of the talented player. However, Neymar makes a third of attacking players that have been responsible for the club’s recent success. The other being Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, famously dubbed ‘MSN.’ This is aside the other prolific players that make up the team.
Lionel Messi, who has been very recently linked with a move to Chelsea following his trouble with the Spanish authorities over tax fraud, is set to get a new deal to tie him to the club. The player already enjoin a bumper package from Nou Camp, hence the club is forced to offer a higher deal to the Uruguayan.
Suarez won the European Golden Boot, aside the La Liga top scorer award. He was ranked as the best player in Spain by many analysts that looked at the last campaign. The 29-year old only went once in three games without getting a goal. His work rate was and remains amazing but he earns far less than he deserves. The player’s deal is reported to be 30 percent of Neymar’s new deal, largely due to the deal when he joined from Liverpool.
Messi and Andres Iniesta are alleged to be the next two set to get new deals, since they have two years left. Messi is likely to get a salary hike so he retains his kingpin status, since reports claim Neymar’s new deal is higher but Luis Suarez would also get something big when he signs a new deal, not even close to Neymar’s since he is 29 as against Neymar’s 24 but something more deserving.
