AUBAMEYANG REACHES 10 BARCA GOALS  QUICKER THAN MESSI AND SUAREZ

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has eclipsed club legends Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi by reaching double figures for Barcelona quicker than the two star strikers. The Gabonese striker moved to the Catalan giants on an 18-month contract after Arsenal waived any transfer fee in order to make the move permanent in January.


The 32-year-old has been an instant success for Barca, having scored 10 times in just 14 appearances since joining two months ago – all while even failing to find the net in his first three appearances. Read more…

SUAREZ BENCHED FOR CELTA VIGO GAME

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez was left on the Atletico Madrid  bench for the start of the Spanish La Ligaclash with Celta Vigo on Saturday as the capital club emerged 2-0 winners to make it   two straight league wins thus boosting their bid to finish in the top four places and qualify for Champions League football next season.


Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone began the Celta Vigo game with a two-man strike force of Portuguese international Joao Felix and Argentine player Angel Correa. ATLETICO MADRID ON THE HUNT FOR SUAREZ REPLACEMENT

Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid are faced with the huge task of getting a potential replacement for Uruguay international striker as the former Barcelona man is slowly getting to the end of his playing career. Suarez is a shadow of the prolific forward he was last season as he guided the Madrid outfit to their first league title in a while. Last season, Suarez scored an impressive 21 goals, with 11 of those strikes being match-winners. His sublime form last season was a key factor in his team clinching he League crown but he has struggled to replicate that firm this season.

Atletico already understand that age is no longer on the ex-Liverpool star’s side and that they must now start the hunt to find him a befitting replacement. While there was no concrete interest or effort from the club to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Italian Serie A side Fiorentina in the January winter transfer window, the striker joined Juventus in what was a huge blow to the club’s that were reportedly showing interest in him, including Atletico and Arsenal.

SUAREZ REJECTS JUVENTUS TRANSFER – REPORT

Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez has reportedly turned down the chance to sign for Italian Serie A giants Juventus this summer. This is according to report from Italian publication Corrieredello Sport which stated that Luis Suarez rejected the transfer to join the Old Lady as a free agent this summer when he was approached by club officials.

Luis Suarez came close to signing for Juventus at the start of last season when he deemed surplus to requirement at Barcelona when Dutchman Ronald Koeman was appointed as their new manager. He could not sign for the Old Lady due to the need for his to obtain Italian citizenship and that paved the way for him to join Spanish champions Atletico Madrid.

ATLETICO HANDED MASSIVE BOOST FOR DERBY
