Diego Godin has revealed that national team colleague Luis Suarez could have joined Atletico Madrid six years earlier. Cagliari defender Godin disclosed this in a chat with reporters at the Uruguay camp ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Venezuela. It was revealed that Luis Suarez could have become an Atletico Madrid player in 2014.

Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo is reportedly still very much interested in the possibility of signing Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez and will have another shot at recruiting him in the summer.
