Suarez on the road to the recovery before season resumes

 

Luis Suarez is set on the recovery process from his injury and will be joining the team soon. La Liga is to return by June whereas the training will commence from mid-May. The league has been suspended due to coronavirus from the middle of March. The teams will be undergoing medical tests and precautionary measures will be taken to ensure the health of all players and other staff. La Liga 2019–2020 season was suspended with Barcelona leading the tables with one point ahead of Real Madrid. The Catalan club is looking forward to sign Lautaro Martinez in the transfer window and Neymar is another the target they are focussing on.


Suarez was feared to be on the benches for the rest of the matches due to the knee injury. But the new reports say that he will be back soon and is recovering from the injury in a steady manner.

Luis Suarez provides update on his recovery from his knee injury

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has said that he is making good progress following a surgery for a knee injury. The Uruguay international has been sidelined since the beginning of January with the injury setback and it has been previously indicated that he requires at least four months to fully recover from the concern.


However, speaking to the club’s official website, Suarez is hopeful of returning to action earlier than predicted such that he can contribute for the team during the final weeks of the season, he told: “It’s difficult to be in this situation, you have to be very strong psychologically, but from the beginning I was prepared. It was the best thing I could do as I was very tired.”

Gundogan says Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer of all time

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has said that Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer of all time, given his very special abilities on the playing field. The Argentine has been consistent with his performances for Barcelona for more than a decade and he recently starred against Celta Vigo by netting his 34th hat-trick in the Spanish La Liga.

In an interview covered by Goal.com, Gundogan was asked about the contenders for the Ballon d’Or and he was quite clear that Messi deserves the prestigious accolade, he told: “Lionel Messi [is the best player in the world]. Valverde pleased with Suarez and Messi playing together once again

Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde has revealed his pleasure with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi playing together after overcoming their respective injury concerns. The duo recently started the Champions League clash against Inter Milan at the Camp Nou and Suarez was the man of the match as he bagged both goals in the 2-1 comeback win.

Messi was hugely involved for the winning strike after dribbling his way past four Nerazzurri players before laying the assist for Suarez and the pair could now feature together in the upcoming league clash against Sevilla. Speaking in a press conference, Valverde confirmed that both players are available for the forthcoming clash against Sevilla and he will make the final decision on whether they will start the game.

Griezmann reacts after guiding Barcelona to victory over Real Betis

France international Antoine Griezmann has spoken to the Spanish media in the aftermath of Barcelona’s 5-2 win over Real Betis in the Spanish La Liga. The reigning champions made the worst possible start to the season as they suffered a 1-0 away defeat at Athletic Bilbao and Griezmann had a forgettable debut with not a single attempt on target.

Against Betis, the Blaugrana suffered a minor scare with Nabil Fekir opening the scoring but Griezmann managed to level the proceedings with his maiden club goal. In the second period, the Catalan giants were thoroughly dominant as they added four more goals compared to Betis’ one and Griezmann was the standout performer with another goal and an assist.
